Salt of the Earth

Zine

This zine was a personal project designing a zine confronting a social issue, more specifically, food and its relation to social class. I titled the zine "Salt of the Earth" because of its biblical significance and relation to food.

I chose to utilize a torn paper effect to signify the often harsh division between social classes. The torn paper also references the sharing of recipes. I really wanted the aesthetic of the book to reflect that of a vintage cookbook.  I stuck to a limited color scheme of blue and orange to simplify the look and draw importance to the importance of the issue. Feel free to flip through if this topic interests you as well!
